Travel Adventures with Jeni

Roles:

– Graphic Design
– Typography
– Brand Identity

Overview:

This travel agent came to Nadia DuBell Creative based on a recommendation from a past client. The agent needed help with creating the perfect logo for a new small business offshoot. As a travel agent the client helps customers by offering consultations and booking travel adventures.

Objective:

Design a new brand logo for an individual travel agent to create brand awareness and name recognition.

Approach:

In the first phase, Discovery, the client filled out a questionnaire. From the questionnaire it was determined who the ideal audience would be, what keywords would be dominant, what mood, style, and colors would be best for the design. The next phase, Ideate, was to consolidate the client’s requests to create a moodboard to use as a style reference going forward.

Next, draft board designs were created in the Design phase which displayed logo options to the client. Drafts also provided a visual reference that could open discussions for revisions and clarify preferences.

The Finalization phase used the final logo selected to polish the art and create a library of formats. Upon final approval, the art package was delivered as agreed.

Solution:

Using the feedback from the client questionnaire, and going through iterations of possible logos, we arrived at the final design which used watercolor elements.

Things Learned/Challenges:

• How to enable watercolor elements to fit the context of the style and industry.
• How to convey the keywords and mood of the travel programs offered by the client.

Results:

A beautifully designed logo that was eye-catching and identifiable to her small business.
100% increase in social media following of the new offshoot startup.

Client Feedback:

“She had amazing ideas for my logo for my travel business. She responded fast and professionally. And was everything I expected and more. Thank you for such a great experience!”
